Purpose and Benefits:

Pharmacy First is a new NHS service that enables pharmacists across England to provide advice and treatment on 7 common conditions without you needing to see a GP.

If you think that you are suffering from any of the following conditions: Earache, Impetigo, Infected insect bites, Shingles, Sinusitis, Sore throat or Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs), just pop into your local Pharmacy and our qualified healthcare professionals will provide a consultation free of charge. If medication is supplied, this will also be free of charge if you currently hold a valid prescription exemption.

Pharmacy First can be accessed as a walk-in service, meaning that you don’t need to book an appointment with a pharmacist to be seen.

Following a consultation, the pharmacist will provide advice and supply treatment if necessary (including antibiotics where appropriate).
